About Me....

 

I currently reside close to Wollongong, NSW. I actually grew up only a few minutes drive from where I now live and can remember my childhood spent with friends on great adventures going fishing, walks through the bush, and any other excuse we could find for an adventure. For me, one thing was always constant..... I was always on the lookout for reptiles. There were several species of lizard that inhabited our area. I can remember coming across and catching Jacky Dragons, Water Dragons, Eastern Water Skinks, She-oak Skinks, occasional Blue Tongues, and of course Garden Skinks. We also found a couple of Snake-neck Turtles and I think I remember a Diamond Python going up our street along the gutter one night. I can't recall when I was actually bitten by the bug but there is a photo of me with a Jacky Dragon in hand at a fairly young age so it's fair to say that it was quite some time ago.

 

I am married to my lovely and incredibly understanding wife Jodie who although doesn't share my passion for reptiles puts on a brave face and tries to understand what it is I find so magnificant in them. I should add that she has drawn the line at spiders. I had mentioned that I wouldn't mind getting an Australian Bird Eating Spider to which she replied, "If you get a spider we are getting a divorce!". I guess it's fair to say she doesn't like spiders much. We have two lovely young boys, Jack and Blake, whom much to the despair of Mum seem to share Dad's fascination with reptiles.  The boys are always in the backyard trying to catch Garden Skinks.
